A budding solicitor is curious to learn about the toughest aspects of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) and the reasons behind these challenges.
As part of our ongoing Career Conundrums series, an individual on the path to becoming a solicitor shares their apprehensions about the upcoming Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).
“Hi, I’d like to submit a career dilemma for discussion. I’m scheduled to take the SQE1 early next year, and to be honest, I’m quite nervous. I’ve been reading various comments on your site and different forums, and a lot of the feedback on the SQE process seems quite discouraging. Additionally, the recent news that the SQE1 pass rate has fallen to 44% is really worrying me! I would appreciate any advice from those who have already gone through it regarding the most challenging parts and the reasons they were difficult. Understanding this could help me prepare more effectively. I’m also interested in hearing from your readers who didn’t pass on their first try, regarding what actions they are taking or changes they’ve made this time around. Please keep this anonymous, thank you.”
