A hopeful legal professional seeks guidance
In the most recent edition of our Career Conundrums series, an aspiring legal practitioner is starting to doubt if a future in commercial law is still attainable, or if it might be time to explore alternative career options.
“Greetings, I completed a non-law degree from a Russell Group university two years ago and have been attempting to secure a position for the past three application cycles without success. I have progressed past the initial stage a few times, but I consistently stumble at the first obstacle. I possess a considerable amount of experience in non-legal roles (currently employed in a full-time office position in my hometown) and have been participating in events and webinars for what seems like ages now. I feel like I am taking all the right steps, so I’m at a loss as to where I could improve! I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has faced similar challenges and managed to overcome them, as I am contemplating giving up :(“
