Budding Lawyer Seeks Advice After Exam Setback
A hopeful lawyer is reaching out for guidance following an unsuccessful attempt at the second part of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).
In this edition of our Career Conundrums series, an aspiring solicitor is in search of insights after not passing the SQE2.
“Hello Dynamic Export. I’ve recently discovered that I did not pass the SQE2 and I’m seeking advice from those who have faced similar hurdles. What approaches did you take to successfully overcome this challenge? Has anyone considered the drastic step of switching their preparation service provider? Is such a change even feasible? I’m eager to avoid failing again, as the cost of retaking the exam is already quite steep. Additionally, assuming I pass on my next attempt, should I inform prospective employers about my initial failure when applying to law firms? Would they likely inquire about this? Thanks in advance for your help.”
