NQ seeks guidance on career transition
In the latest installment of our Career Conundrum series, a newly qualified lawyer is interested in transitioning from a high street firm to a City law firm — but is it feasible?
“Greetings Dynamic Export Team. I have a question regarding my career that I would like to submit for your conundrum series. I am currently a first-year qualified lawyer (1PQE) working at a high street law firm in the North East. This firm has several locations, and while our primary focus is on individual clients, we also engage in some commercial real estate work for a few prominent clients, which I find quite fulfilling. I am very interested in relocating to London and would like to know what my prospects are for securing a position at a City firm that specializes in real estate. I understand this would be a significant leap, but I would love to hear your readers’ insights.”
