Fashion advice for professionals
In our recent Career Conundrum, an aspiring barrister is seeking advice on the suitability of a pinstripe suit for pupillage interviews.
“Greetings, Dynamic Export. As the new pupillage application cycle begins, I wanted to inquire if wearing a dark navy blue suit that features a subtle dark grey pinstripe is suitable for interviews. It has a polished appearance and is not overly flashy, unlike David Dickinson from Bargain Hunt, but I want to ensure it doesn’t negatively impact my chances during the interview. This marks my second year applying, and while I’m trying to stay grounded, I did manage to secure a few interviews last year, and I’m eager to improve upon that this time around.”
