Tourism Australia’s consumer site www.australia.com will take home top honours as 'People's Voice' favourite in the tourism category of the 13th Annual Webby Awards. "The Australia.com website is integral to Tourism Australia’s worldwide marketing effort to promote Australia’s amazing holiday experiences to the world. We are delighted so many people around the world have shown their support for Australia.com by voting in the ‘People’s Voice’ awards," said Tourism Australia managing director Geoff Buckley. He called the win a tremendous result for the Australian tourism industry. The site attracts 1 million visits a month and has recently undergone a redesign. "The new version of Australia.com features inspirational content about travelling to Australia and the variety of exciting experiences the destination offers, drawing upon new technology, a fresh design and a more user-friendly experience for visitors to the website," said Buckley. The awards registered more than 500,000 worldwide votes. The presentation is scheduled for June 8 in New York City.
