Geoff Dixon, former CEO of Qantas, may be Tourism Australia's new deputy chairman by the end of the week if the re-organisation of the body's boardroom occurs as suspected. Dixon is likely to join two other new directors, according to The Australian, whose source believes he will initiate a shake up of the organisation following a couple of lacklustre international campaigns. The new appointments come as three non-excutive roles become available following the departure of Andrew Burnes, founder of tour company AOT Group, hotel owner operator Peter Burnett, and Jane Jeffreys, chair of the Adelaide Convention Centre. Tourism Australia's new managing director is expected to be Greg Hywood, CEO of Tourism Victoria, who will replace Geoff Buckley in June. Tourism Minister Martin Ferguson is scheduled to name the new directors later this week.
