Singapore Airlines has repainted two of its flagship A380 aircraft with Singapore’s national flag to mark the city-state’s 50th birthday.
The flag will feature on the planes through until the end of the year, for the Hong Kong, Mumbai, London, New Delhi, Shanghai, Sydney and Zurich routes.
Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong said the success of the airlines is closely tied to the success of Singapore.
“What better way to celebrate SG50 that by proudly flying the national flag around the world on the world’s largest aircraft?”
The airline is also launching a series of promotions to mark SG50.
From now until July 10, overseas Singaporeans and visitors travelling to Singapore will get a 50 per cent discount for online redemptions with its KrisFlyer loyalty program.
Also, Singapore Airlines and sister carrier SilkAir will be giving away 50 flight tickets up to July 31. Customers who make bookings stand to win an economy class ticket to anywhere on their flight route in Southeast Asia.
