Leading transportation FedEx Express is expanding its international economy service to Europe, to help exporters in the APAC region better reach global customers.
New FedEx International Economy services will deliver more competitive delivery times and dependability.
In addition to its existing routes from major Asia Pacific markets, FedEx expands the destinations of International Economy service to cover Bulgaria, Malta and Cyprus, and International Economy Freight service to Romania and Estonia, opening up 68 more lanes from Asia Pacific to Europe.
FedEx Express says the new service, effective immediately, is an affordable, cross-border, customs-cleared, door-to-door service with competitive delivery dates.
The service allows customers to save on less time-sensitive deliveries without sacrificing reliability.
The FedEx International Economy service is ideal for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a focus on cost-saving.
SMEs can reap the benefits of the strong, global FedEx network at a competitive price for non-urgent shipments, the company says.
Across the region, more SMEs are expanding their global footprint under a thriving digital economy. Yet they are also facing increasing challenges in exporting and importing.
SMEs are looking for alternate shipping options including slower, deferred shipments, in addition to express shipments, says FedEx.
“Asia and Europe are now leading trade partners, with US$1.5 trillion of annual merchandise trade,” said Karen Reddington, president, Asia Pacific, FedEx Express.
“The expansion of FedEx International Economy service destinations in Europe helps Asia Pacific small-and medium-sized businesses who trade with Europe better capture global opportunities.
“With FedEx International Economy service, SMEs are able to reliably and affordably reach their global customers.
“We are helping to build borderless businesses and create endless possibilities.”
