Representatives of the Dubai Government owned Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), the world’s largest economic free zone, will visit Australia and New Zealand next month to discuss trade opportunities.

Situated between Jebel Ali Port and Dubai’s new al Maktoum International Airport, Jafza is the world’s pre-eminent tax free zone for manufacturing, oil and gas, construction, industrial, logistics and supply chain import, export and re-export.

It is the global trade access hub to UAE, Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.

The 57sq/km site contains over 7300 businesses, including 120 of the Global Fortune 500 companies. It accounts for 22 percent of Dubai GDP, with revenues of over $90.2 billion in trade annually.

Recent additional facilities include a $2.5 billion development known as Jafza One, which includes twin office towers, a conference centre, convention centre and a 320-bed four-star hotel within short driving distance of Dubai’s downtown commercial and resort centres.

Jebel Ali Free Zone will host more than 300 Australian and New Zealand businesses at this week’s GULFood conference, the world’s largest food and beverage event.

Jafza recently appointed Sydney-based Logistics Executive Group, an industry leader in supply chain and logistics, as its representative in Australia and New Zealand.

Logistics Executive Group has been an active participant in the UAE economy since opening an office in Dubai 10 years ago.

“It’s been exciting to be part of the massive regional development, said Logistics Executive Group Global CEO Kim Winter. “And it’s a genuine honour for us as a global business to be appointed as representatives for Jafza as a jewel in the crown of Dubai and the UAE downunder.”

Mr Winter said more than 80 Australian and New Zealand businesses currently enjoy unparalleled business facilities and tax free advantages within Jafza.

The delegation will undertake a five city B2B trip to Australia/New Zealand from March 24-29. Australia and NZ Companies interested in meeting the delegates and exploring access to Middle East/CIS/Africa markets should contact Kim Winter (Dubai Office): +971 43616275 Mobile: +971 505346921 kimw@logisticsexecutive.com
