Leading Australian Customs clearance agency Platinum Freight Management will from this month offer face-to-face consultations and phone brokering advice and services in Mandarin, embracing Chinese Australian businesses who import and export.
Led by Client Service Manager Le Chen, the Mandarin division is an important growth area for the Australian-based business, which has a footprint in six Australian states and territories, as well as Hong Kong and, since June this year, Auckland New Zealand.
Le Chen said: “We believe that many fees and charges are extraneous and only charged because brokers don’t learn the detail of a business. By working closely with our clients, in their first language, we can discover more about their importing and exporting needs to ensure we negotiate the lowest fees and charges possible.”
While some brokers employ Mandarin-speaking staff to liaise with the Chinese port and customs authorities, Platinum Freight believes there is room to improve the client-facing services available to Mandarin speakers.
The company’s CEO Peter McRae said: “We want to ensure we offer the best and most professional freight forwarding services that will appeal to all Australian businesses.
“Our Mandarin division will focus on building strong client relationships with Chinese Australian businesses. In our clients’ native language we will educate and advise on Free Trade Agreements and other duty exemptions, and look at the whole picture to discover where a client can save further on importing and exporting costs.”
Platinum Freight Management is unique in the Australian Market already, international, independent and privately owned.
It offers seven-day-service to all clients, with extended hours to meet the needs of a global economy. It works hard to achieve savings on all fronts for clients, including a 0% credit card surcharge on fees.
Most accurate advice
It handles all customs clearance processes for its clients – from independent operators to large national businesses. This includes logistics and transport, quarantine inspections, risk assessment, compliance and auditing to government regulators standards.
Platinum Freight claims the most accurate advice and the fastest response time in market. It also operates with a unique company structure of one “touchpoint” for a client through all stages of their import or export process. This gives clients access to unrivalled expertise and personalisation, no administrative double-handling and therefore lower fees.
“We have designed our business to deliver a positive customer experience to all clients, commensurate with our motto: Simply no higher level of service,” said McRae.
Platinum Freight has launched an eight-week Chinese language marketing campaign to attract new Mandarin-speaking clients. Once the Mandarin division is established, the agency will look at Vietnamese and Arabic divisions to appeal to these sectors of the Australian business community.
