The Australian Made, Australian Grown (AMAG) Campaign has launched a dedicated shopping application for iPhone and iPad users as part of its ongoing effort to help consumers find genuine Aussie products and produce.
The free app is now available to download and allows shoppers to search over 10,000 products licensed to carry the most trusted and recognised country of origin symbol.
It comes with a virtual shopping strip where users can browse through a lolly shop, hardware store and other virtual retailers all showcasing AMAG registered brands. And, as an added incentive, users will also gain access to exclusive online content including competitions and promotional offers.
AMAG Chief Executive Ian Harrison says the app is designed to enhance the digital and new media presence of authentic Aussie brands and businesses, many of whom have been slow to embrace new communication channels.
“Research tells us that currently only about 35 per cent of small to medium sized Australian businesses have an online or new media presence,” Mr Harrison says.
“On the flip side, we know that shoppers have a clear preference for buying locally made products, but that it is often difficult to find these goods. The app is designed to deliver up-to-date, reliable information about where to find Australian products right to the consumer’s fingertips.”
“This new application maximises the exposure of the logo and the thousands of products which carry it, providing consumers with a tremendous opportunity to buy from an exceptional range of products, at the same time supporting the nation’s farmers, fishermen, manufacturers and processors,’’ Mr Harrison says.
Mr Harrison says AMAG continually strives to find new ways to help businesses interact with consumers, both at home and overseas.

“This new channel makes it possible for us to deliver accurate and up-to-date information directly to shoppers at the touch of a button,” he says.
Designed and developed by Slattery Media, the app allows users to search for and locate Australian made and grown products and the businesses behind them using a simple, user-friendly interface.
"Our pitch to develop a shopping directory to help consumers identify, find and buy genuine Aussie products was well received and we now look forward to releasing an update which will provide access to this information in real-time," Slattery Media Software and Web Production Manager, David McIntyre says.
Shoppers can also find out what the different descriptors that must be used with the logo mean, browse the virtual shopping strip and receive access to exclusive competitions and updates.
The launch comes just months after the not-for-profit organisation unveiled its new-look website and launched a new media platform tailored exclusively to AMAG licensees, Australian Made Media.
