The World Trade Organisation will join with the World Travel Market at the 3rd annual Ministers’ Summit in London on November 10 in a gathering of travel and tourism representatives to discuss current global issues affecting the industry. The summit hopes to examine and find solutions to the effects of the global economic crisis to put the travel and tourism industry on the path to economic recovery. The event will include three key panels:
- Tourism: Tackling the Global Economic Crisis, which will focus on the impact of the current global crisis on tourism demand and innovative solutions.
- Positioning Travel and Tourism in the Global Agenda, which will focus on the role tourism can play within the G20 initiative to stimulate the global economy, support poor countries facing the crisis and prepare for a green economic transformation.
- The Way Forward: Future Challenges and the Transformation to a Green Economy, which will focus on the post-crisis industry, relevant structural changes and the need to pursue a green agenda.
