Australian workers are keen to maintain a work and life balance when travelling for business purposes a Regus Business Travel Survey showed. The key figures from the survey reveal 47 percent of workers pack exercise or swimming outfits when on a business trip compared to 27 percent of workers globally. Balancing work and life is increasingly possible through flexible working conditions said William Willems, Regional Vice President Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. "Flexible work arrangements are certainly going to grow, both in terms of office hours and location, so that employees can maximise their free time while also giving real commitment on the business front," he said. The survey also revealed 82 percent of Australian business travellers take some special item with them when travelling for work compared to 75 percent globally. These figures suggest home comforts are of higher importance to Australian business travellers. "The weird and wonderful things people were found to take on business trips, from fitness equipment to favourite foods and objects, often reveal how personal and professional lives struggle to co-exist in today’s high pressured work environment," explained Willems. "Evidently the line between business and pleasure is blurring with more people feeling they need to take a bit of home away with them."
