The USA will begin a campaign targeting customers in Brazil, China and India to buy more US goods as part of its efforts to double its exports in five years. The US commerce undersecretary for International Trade, Francisco Sanchez, said the government had identified these countries as growth markets: "That's where the money is and that's where we need to focus." Sanchez acknowledged that relations between China and the USA have been tense and said they would proceed with caution. "We and the Chinese need to manage our trade relationship very carefully. It's in neither of our interest to have tensions escalate in a way that's unproductive," he said. Sanchez entered his role last month and has already set his sights on visiting countries with the most buying potential, with a trip planned to Brazil and China in May, India and Saudi Arabia in June, and Canada and Mexico later this year.
