A combination of the Federal Government's $900 stimulus payments and an airline price war has led to concerns about travellers forgetting or choosing not to buy insurance. Many travellers are taking a risk by going without insurance, says Edith Fink, spokesperson for ARTOG.com.au, an insurance comparison website. "While a budget holiday is a fantastic escape during these uncertain economic times, travellers must be careful. The cheapest airfares available are often to nations that are politically unstable, like Fiji and Thailand, places where it’s especially important you protect yourself and make sure you’re covered," she said.
