Software exporter wins Dell Award article image
Melbourne-based software developer QSR International has won the second annual Dell Small Business Excellence Award in Australia. The business' flagship product, NVivo, provides qualitative data analysis for its customers and holds a 49 percent market share in the sector. QSR exports to more than 150 countries. "QSR represents outstanding achievement in small business innovation and is a true example of how a small business can become a global leader through innovative use of technology," said Deborah Harrigan, Dell's general manager for the Small to Medium Business division for Australia and New Zealand. "We're an Australian business with a big global footprint and our success has been almost entirely attributable to innovation - not only in the way we use technology in our software, but in the way it's factored into every facet of the business - from sales and marketing, to the delivery of support and training," said QSR chief executive John Owen. "We even use our own software to analyse our customers' feedback when designing and developing new products." The award includes $25,000 worth of Dell products and services and support from other award partners. QSR will also represent Australia at the 2009 Global Dell Small Business Excellence Award against national winners from 13 other countries across Europe, North America and Asia.
