QLD Premier to proceed with trade mission

QLD Premier to proceed with trade mission article image
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh will resume plans for a 10-day trade mission next month after initial plans were postponed due to the threat of swine flu. Originally planned for May, following Bligh's election win, the trip to India, Russia and the United Arab Emirates will now go ahead in October. Bligh decided to postpone the May trip to ensure Queensland could cope with the emergence of swine flu. Her expected itinerary will encompass a visit to India to attend the Commonwealth Games Federation and to pitch for the Gold Coast to host the 2018 Games. The Russian stop will promote Queensland agribusiness and education, while her visit to the UAE will include the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi government.
