Are you a food exporter?
The Victorian Government is seeking expressions of interest from Victorian food and beverage organisations interested in participating in a Trade Mission to Foodex Japan, from March 2-6 this year.
Japan is Victoria's second largest importer of Victorian food, beverage and dairy.
In April last year, Australia and Japan signed the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA), which is scheduled to come into effect on January 15 this year.
The new agreement provides tariff reductions and an increase in duty-free quotas for a number of key food and beverage products.
Foodex provides an opportunity for Victorian companies to tap into the Japan market at this important time.
Foodex is Japan's largest trade only food show and in 2014 attracted more than 2,800 exhibitors from 78 countries and more than 75,000 visitors.
Showcase your products
The Victorian Government will host a Victorian Pavilion at Foodex and will be supporting eligible Victorian organisations to exhibit.
Space is limited, so registrations should be submitted as soon as possible.
Trade mission participants will be introduced to potential qualified importers, distributors and end users and have the opportunity to showcase their products and services with support from Victorian Government staff based in the market.
If you are an export ready Victorian food and beverage organisation you can register your interest online now.
Registrations close on January 18, 2015.
Companies participating in the Trade Mission may be eligible for a Victorian Government subsidy of up to $2,000 towards airfares and accommodation.
