USA seeks Australian water solutions
A US delegation is currently touring Australia to gain an insight into our water conservation methods, product development, management and policy.
The delegation for the Water management and Sustainability Study Tour, organised by Austrade and supported by Water Australia, consists of 13 decision makers from US government, industry and research organisations who will visit Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth.
Australia is recognised as a world leader in water management said Austrade’s regional director for the Americas, Grame Barty, and the tour was just another way of providing business opportunities for Australian exporters in this sector.
“This study tour builds on previous initiatives which have included inward and outward missions, events and forums. It is part of a broader strategy to share water security knowledge and experiences with key decision makers in the US by increasing awareness of Australia’s world-class expertise and capabilities,” he said.
The two-week visit will include presentations from Australian senior policy makers as well as site visits to utilities and facilities across Australia such as desalination plants and water recycling projects.
