The Australian Institute of Export to reward seven export heroes

The Australian Institute of Export (AIEx) will acknowledge and reward seven important people who have contributed to Australia’s wellbeing with The Australian Export Heroes Award next month.

This year’s Australian Export Heroes are:

Howard Mackay Croker, who established Croker Oars in 1962 and is exporting to more than 30 countries with representatives in over 24 countries.

Richard Rains, chief executive officer of Sanger Australia Pty Ltd, an international trading merchant of high quality Australian meats.

Barry Thomas, from Cook Medical who are leaders in developing healthcare devices, improving lives around the world.

David Chester, from Magic Millions, for over 30 years of export service as Australia’s longest-serving Bloodstock Agent.

Janine Allis, founder and managing director of the Retail Zoo (trading as Boost Juice Bars and Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill) which has outlets in more countries than any other juice bar in the world.

Frank Seeley AM, from Seeley International. Founded in 1972, Seeley was first to develop, manufacture and fix residential evaporative air conditioners to overcome metal corrosion problems.

Eduard Johannes Planken OAM,
chief executive officer of Wescobee Limited, established in 1926 and owned by Western Australian beekeepers. Eduard has guided the company toward exporting to 20 countries.

AIEx said that all seven recipients deserve special recognition for their vision, passion and sheer hard work. Most importantly they have sold Australia and Australia’s diverse range of industry capabilities to the world.

“People who receive an export hero award have fought and won on the international stage,” Ian Murray, executive director of the Australian Institute of Export said.

Many have spent time away from family and friends, sometimes in dangerous locations around the world, to achieve success for their business.

On 16 April the Governor of New South Wales, Professor Marie Bashir (AC, CVO) will officially present the 2012 Australian Export Heroes Awards to these seven high achieving Australians.
