South East Asian pass to boost air travel
Malaysian Airlines has launched a discounted air pass for the South East Asian region designed to boost traveller numbers and encourage tourists to visit Malaysia.
The pass includes four prepaid one-way tickets between Kuala Lumpur and any destination in the Association of South East Asian Nations, in either direction.
The pass, which costs $US229 for economy class or $US729 for business class, is valid for three months. The fare includes fuel surcharges and other fees, but passengers need to pay separate airport taxes.
“It’s a massive discount. Kuala Lumpur will be the base and hub, so it will bring a lot of tourists to Malaysia,” said Idris Jala, managing director for the airline.
They are looking to increase their passenger load by 2,500 travellers, he added.
