Minister for Trade Simon Crean has appointed Peter Grey the new chief executive for Austrade, Australia’s trade commission.

Grey, currently the Australian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva, has both domestic and international experience in trade and commercial relationships. Prior to his current position, he held a number of senior positions within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

“Throughout his career Mr Grey has worked closely with Australia’s business community and he will draw on this experience and network to further develop Austrade’s strategic relationship with Australian exporters and the broader commercial sector” said Crean.
