Manufacturing grants to boost exports

The textile, clothing and footwear (TCF) industry is set to receive a boost thanks to the Federal Government’s new funding round of TCF Small Business Program grants, where businesses can apply for grants of up to $50,000 a project.

Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research Kim Carr said the grants would help “boost the competitiveness of smaller Australian designers and manufacturers in domestic and overseas markets”.

Designed to promote innovation in mentoring, marketing and branding, supply chains, e-commerce and export opportunity development the program is ideal for small designers and manufacturers, he said.

“Businesses that are enterprising and innovative are those best able to respond to tougher market conditions. I urge small businesses to take advantage of this program.”

Applications for the latest funding round for the TCF Small Business Program close on February 26, 2010. For more information, or to apply, visit the AusIndustry website.
