Japan to tackle global enviro market

by Adeline Teoh   Thursday 27 August 2009 10:22 am

A recent survey conducted by the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) shows that Japanese businesses are looking to globalise their environment-related products.

“Japanese firms are eager to export environment-related products, while at the same time relatively few have progressed far in overseas production,” read JETRO’s report.

The organisation identified that more data was required to support environmentally-focused businesses to assess Japan’s relative strengths and weaknesses in the sector “as well as their ability to develop new products and provide services”.

JETRO also called upon the government to then form policies around the information to assist Japanese business in the industry.
