Aussie mobile cafe puts the moves on US
Australian mobile coffee franchise Cafe2U is preparing to enter the United States market, after a successful trial run in San Diego in June. The Cafe2U concept (delivering made-to-order espresso to offices) has already met with success in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
Managing director Derek Black said the mobile coffee model is the only one of its kind in the US. “We see America as a key market for the brand. The US market represents a mature coffee market with many significant opportunities to stimulate growth.”
The Cafe2U brand has recorded year-on-year growth of 30 percent for the past three years in the Australian market, and Black expects the international franchises will repeat that success.
He said there is a growing interest in espresso brewed coffee in the US. Cafe2U is now on the hunt for interested entrepreneurs looking to grow the US market.
As the international directors seek to expand Cafe2U internationally, negotiations are also under way with potential partners in New Zealand and China.
