Airports prepare for swine flu

by Adeline Teoh   Thursday 30 April 2009 3:15 pm

The federal Department of Health has sent thermal scanners and health declaration cards to eight international airports around Australia to assist quarantine officers in detecting passengers suspected of having swine flu.

As a precaution, Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service officers will assess passengers with flu-like symptoms and refer them for medical attention if required.

No cases of swine flu have been confirmed in Australia.
