Register to join the Wanwu Initiative

Austrade is inviting Australian companies interested in the Chinese market for clean technologies to apply to join the Wanwu Initiative.

The Australia-China Wanwu Eco-country Initiative was created by Austrade in 2009 to help broker participation by Australian companies in Chinese clean tech projects and enable access to funding.

Remediation specialists wanted

David Dukes, Austrade’s trade commissioner in Beijing, says soil and water remediation is a key sector in the organisation’s environmental strategy in China. Due to Australia’s regulations protecting the environment and water resources, local remediation techniques applied particularly to the mining industry have developed to an advanced level. A number of companies and university and government sponsored organisations supplying remediation services are already active in China.

The Australian Advanced Remediation Group is composed of remediation companies offering complementary services and expertise which can be marketed synergistically overseas. Austrade is actively working with the AARG to promote contracts in China and has built a network of relationships through agreements with cities such as Changsha. It led six remediation missions with Australian companies to Hunan Province in the last year and a similar number to Gansu Province.

Apply now

Clean tech companies interested in applying to be part of the Wanwu Initiative should visit www.austrade.gov.au/wanwu to register.
