Export scholarship on offer for fashion designers
DHL is offering fashion designers with dreams to break into the export market the chance to win a $10,000 freight package.
The global delivery service is inviting emerging designers with plans to export to get their entries in for the exclusive competition, previously won by designers such as ‘We Are Handsome’ and ‘Bec & Bridge’.
The DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship is in its third year, and is open to all Australian designers and labels that have been exporting for less than four years.
“DHL understands the challenges for emerging brands and businesses to begin exporting and this is why we began the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship, to help these designers to realise their international exporting potential,” said Gary Edstein, senior vice president of DHL Express Oceania.
Last year’s winners, ‘We Are Handsome’, strongly advise other fashion brands to consider entering this scholarship competition. “Winning the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship has enabled us to ensure that taking the brand beyond Australia is done safely and with ease. Exporting is a detailed and crucial part of any international business and the support and mentoring from the DHL Express team has been absolutely invaluable and has taught us more than what we could have done going it alone,” said Jeremy J Somers.
